Run and Curry Night: Thursday, 23 February 2012
We are celebrating the end of a 4-month programme of training with the Adult Endurance Programme, and almost the end of a series of Saturday sessions at Ogden Water. But we want to open it up beyond the forty people on these courses, to anyone who might be interested in joining the AET programme when it restarts, with some “FREE taster sessions” on 27 February.
EVERYONE who has attended any of the sessions on Saturdays at Ogden water or the Monday-Wednesday sessions is really welcome (plus friends and partners, of course). You’ve all worked dead hard in the past weeks – so it’s important to reward yourselves.
The plan is to join up for a curry in Shipley this Thursday, 23 February. But before that you would have the option to attend your own club run, or if your club doesn’t run on Thursdays or you’re not a member of a running club you are welcome to join either of the following two groups for a run:
Run from Bingley
Bingley Harriers – meet at 7:20pm, BRADFORD & BINGLEY SPORTS CLUB, Wagon Lane, Bingley – BD16 1LT

Description: Club run for around an hour with group options of longer/faster (6-7 miles or shorter (5 miles). Routes vary around the Bingley area.
Cost: £1.00 (to cover the toilet and shower facilities).
Meeting location – At the entrance to the rugby club main pavilion.
Facilities – Toilets and Showers/changing rooms (though the female ones are a bit limited).

Public transport –
a) 15-20 minutes’ walk from Bingley railway station (every 15 minutes from Skipton and Keighley) and 30 mins from Leeds and Bradford via Shipley. Either follow the main road from Bingley towards Cottingley, and turn left after Beckfoot School onto Wagon Lane; or take the muddy footpath that follows the railway line behind Beckfoot School to bring you out onto Wagon Lane.
b) 2-3 minutes’ walk from the bus-stop facing Beckfoot School – route 662 from Bingley, Saltaire and Bradford (every 15-30 minutes at weekends); or route 760 from Keighley to Leeds (half-hourly at weekends)
Car-parking – turn off the main road by Beckfoot School, and after 400yds enter the sports club, and then skirt behind the new cricket nets to the car park.
Or run from Shipley/Baildon
Saltaire Striders – meet at 6:50pm, for 7:00pm start. Address: Greens Gym, Otley Road, Lower Baildon, Shipley – BD17 7HE

Then Curry at the Aagrah (followed by drinks at the Old Tramshed, if you want)
After we have worked up an appetite we will all meet up at the AAGRAH, Shipley for a curry and a few drinks in the company of fellow runners.
AAGRAH – meet at 9:00pm, 4 Saltaire Road, Shipley, Bradford, BD18 3HN
Description: 3-course Indian buffet.
Cost: £12.95 each excluding drinks (paid on the night)
Car-parking – Please note that Aagrah customers are permitted to park in the Bubbles Car Wash forecourt after 6pm daily. (NB: Aagrah Restaurants and Bubbles Car Wash are not liable for any thefts or damage caused to vehicles or property left at the site.)
And if you want the fun to continue, I hear there is talk about heading over to the Old Tramshed bar in Saltaire (up from the Aagrah) for a few further drinks, that to be decided on the night.
This event is open to anyone! There is no need to book a place, just turn up on the night.
