Yorkshire Regional Endurance Development Programme
The 2011-12 Day Conferences focus on the female runner. The first conference of 2012 took place on 22 January at the Don Valley stadium, Sheffield.
The workshop was led by Brian Scobie (Area Coach Mentor for England Athletics), with guest speakers Angie Hulley (Olympic athlete, psychology graduate, former British record holder and national XC Champion, and formerly member of the UKA women’s panel) and Dr Alan Currie (international expert on eating disorders, consultant psychiatrist, and former endurance athlete). The day conference addressed the following:
• Volumes/Intensities/Progressions through puberty
• Volumes/Intensities/Sessions vis-a-vis males
• Eating Disorders
• Osteoporosis
• Amenorrhaea
