Mondays: January 4 to 25, February 1 to 29 (NB no session on 15th for half-term), March 7 to 21; then two week Easter break, April 11 to 25.

Wednesdays: two days after the sessions above.

Coach Led Training Sessions

Improve your running with our top-notch coach led training sessions! We’ve got some of the best coaches in the North of England to help you take your running to the next level. Benefits include:

  • Core strength and conditioning for more effective running and injury prevention
  • Track based interval training to increase speed
  • Drills & exercises to improve technique and running efficiency

Let our expert coaches help you with all aspects of training such as: drills, injury prevention, race techniques, and planning of training.

Joining our sessions will give you the benefits of expert guidance in strength and conditioning. At our gym sessions you will build up your core strength to run more effectively and enjoyably. Our track sessions include drills, exercises and interval training so you can learn to run faster and take your running to a higher level.

Use these sessions to supplement your regular training runs, on your own or in groups or clubs. We also offer testing, workshops and other support for anyone wanting to improve their knowledge and practice of running.

We offer year-round 15 week Seasonal Programmes with two sessions each week. These sessions are suitable for runners of all standards who wish to improve their running. The two sessions are independent – you can sign up for one or both sessions each week.

Expert Coaching

BRIAN SCOBIE was till recently England Athletics’ Area Endurance Coach Mentor for Yorkshire & Humberside. He has coached marathon runners such as Peter Whitehead (4th, World Champs), Angie Pain-Hulley (10th, Olympics ’88), and Veronique Marot (twice British record-holder, winner London Marathon, 2nd New York Marathon, three times winner of Houston Marathon, etc.), and is the coach of several 2008/2012 Paralympics medallists.

ILONA MELOUNOVA is a former international athlete and was a member of the Czech Olympic sprint squad. She is a specialist coach who trained at the Charles University (a top sports institution) in Prague. Ilona has coached many Paralympic athletes. She also leads the Bradford Athletics Academy for students and junior athletes.

Short Courses

Subject to demand, we also organise Short Courses, such as off-road running technique, navigation for runners and long-runs for road runners, or introductions for complete beginners.

Day Courses or Workshops

The Noticeboard gives information on additional conferences, workshops, testing/diagnostic sessions etc, either organised directly by ourselves or by the Regional Endurance Centre at Leeds Met University (Carnegie sports faculty), or by similar official organisations.
